About CPM
The Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) guides candidates and inquirers through the PC(USA) ordination process, providing oversight, support, and accountability as they discern and pursue a call to ministry.
CPM works closely with individuals, their home sessions, and theological seminaries to ensure that those entering ordained ministry in the Presbytery of San Francisco are well-prepared, spiritually grounded, and theologically equipped.
CPM Is Available To
- Guide inquirers and candidates through each step of the ordination process
- Assign CPM liaisons to walk alongside candidates throughout their preparation
- Review and approve applications for inquirer and candidacy status
- Conduct annual consultations with each candidate
- Evaluate readiness for ordination examinations
- Evaluate readiness for ordination examinations
- Provide resources and support for financial planning for theological education
